The Graduate Research School delivers the Sydney College of Divinity Higher Degree by Research (HDR) awards. The Sydney College of Divinity is accredited by TEQSA as a Higher Education Provider on the National Register of Higher Education and is registered with CRICOS Registration Code 02948J.
The School offers four postgraduate research degrees that are open to domestic and international students. The Sydney College of Divinity (SCD) is an ecumenical cluster of colleges, which allows research candidates in the Graduate Research School to experience a rich diversity of scholarly and theological viewpoints. This strengthens the candidate’s own ability to think incisively across the academic disciplines and to reflect in a nuanced and appreciative manner about scholarly viewpoints and methodologies sometimes vastly different to their own. We seek not only to produce scholars whose theological research reflects the highest academic excellence but also who exhibit its deep impact upon their character in their academic, denominational and professional leadership, as well as in the spiritual formation of their communities.
The Graduate Research School is staffed by Research Director Professor James Harrison and Executive Officer (Research Analytics) Professor Neil Ormerod. They work collaboratively with the Sydney College of Divinity Office of the Dean to manage the School and its programs.
