About this course
The Master of Arts (MA) (Korean) is an AQF Level 9 Masters Degree (Coursework) award delivered in Korean. The course is designed for those who want to undertake ministry specializing in practical aspects of the ministry. It offers subjects in Christian Education, Christian Counselling, Missiology, Homiletics, Liturgics, Leadership, Pastoral Theology, Spiritual Theology, Youth Ministry and Multicultural Ministry.
The MA (Korean) course is designed for two categories of candidates:
- Those who hold a tertiary qualification in a non-theological discipline, who seek a graduate-level education in theology comparable in depth to the Bachelor of Theology (Korean), including a deeper biblical and theological understanding, spiritual formation, and cultural literacy that will prepare them for ordained or other ministry in church, parachurch or non-profit organisations, and other vocational settings.
- Those who hold a tertiary qualification in a theological discipline who wish to pursue a graduate qualification in theology as part of their continuing education for ministry.
There are two categories for study and entry into the MA (Korean) depending on the qualification held by the student:
Candidates holding an AQF Level 8 award in Theology or Ministry
Credit points : 72 credit points (i.e. 8 units)
Duration : 1 year full-time or 3 years part-time
Candidates with an AQF Level 7 award in Theology or Ministry
Credit points : 108 credit points (i.e. 12 units)
Duration : 1.5 years full-time or 4.5 years part-time
The Master of Arts (Korean) may be taken with or without a specialisation.
The MA has nested within it the Graduate Certificate in Arts and the Graduate Diploma of Arts:
- GradCertArts requires 36 credit points
- GradDipArts requires 72 credit points
