Mr Jason Israel

Mr Jason Israel is the point of contact for students at the Catholic Institute of Sydney. He is responsible for academic administration and student support in his role as Registrar, Student Support Officer for domestic and overseas students, and the Grievance Handler.

In addition to the significant work at CIS, Jason is also currently studying at the Sydney College of Divinity to complete his Master of Theology. His academic interests include Scripture, Early Christian Interpretation on Scripture (Hermeneutics),  Early Church History, Patristic Theology, Eastern Orthodox Theology, Eastern Orthodox Worship and Christian Spirituality.

Jason was awarded the 2017 Sydney College of Divinity Centre for Gospels and Acts Research Essay Prize for his essay, The Prologue’s Imagery of Light and Darkness to Understand the Remainder of John’s Gospel. The Prize is awarded annually for an excellent essay on a Gospels or Acts topic that was submitted as an assessment towards any SCD Course in the calendar year of the award and had received a Distinction or High Distinction.
