August 2020 Research Writers Workshop
The August 2020 Research Writers Workshop is jointly organised by the Sydney College of Divinity (SCD) and the Australian College of Theology (ACT) Research Offices and is open to the SCD and ACT faculty members. The workshop can involve up to eight participants. Participation will be on the basis of submitted research proposals.
The workshop offers faculty members the opportunity to turn their good ideas into publishable outputs targeting quality international journals. Participants are mentored by internationally recognised scholars who will assist in building up ideas, shaping them into a research paper, and submitting this paper to a quality journal.
This is an online workshop. Due to increasing concern about the growth in the number of Covid-19 cases in Victoria and hotspots in NSW and Sydney in particular, we decided to move the event online, to be delivered by Zoom. While this will not be as interactive as a meeting face-to-face, we hope that it will deliver an acceptable and profitable environment for all participants. We will miss the camaraderie of sharing meals and conversations in an informal setting, but we will be able to deliver a robust informative program to assist you in developing your research potential into the future.
Application and Research Proposal
Participation for the workshop will be on the basis of your research proposal. Attach your research proposal and submit your online application by Friday, 31 July 2020.
Your research proposal should be no more than 500 words in which you outline the idea you would like to work on and the approach you will take (bibliography not required). If the workshop is oversubscribed candidates will be chosen on a selective basis, to be decided by the ACT and SCD Research Offices. All applicants will be informed of the decision by Monday, 3 August 2020.
There is no fee for participating in the Workshop.
