Each SCD Member Institution has an individual library which supports the educational requirements of students and staff by providing accessible information in the form of books, periodicals and electronic resources. However, the individual libraries also work together and students can access any SCD library via a common web portal. Access online portal.
Graduate Research Students should nominate the library of an SCD Member Institution as their home library and apply for borrowing status by submitting this form to the SCD Research Director: Application for Borrowing Status Research Students & SCD Staff
Students and staff can also arrange to borrow items from any SCD library through reciprocal borrowing arrangements. Students wishing to borrow items from other SCD libraries should contact their home college librarian to obtain a reciprocal borrowing form.
Students studying by distance can arrange to borrow from any SCD library by mailing or faxing the completed form and photocopy of their student ID to the library from which they wish to borrow.
For details on all the SCD Libraries including holdings, special collections and contact details view our SCD Libraries Brochure.
Information Literacy Resources
Our librarians are also specialists in providing guidance for students in developing “information literacy” skills such as how to effectively search for information, how to determine what is useful and relevant and how to find the best resources for particular learning tasks and assignments. Ask your college librarian today, you’ll be surprised at how much they know and how helpful they can be in your learning journey.
